Roofing in Kingsford is mostly established residential with a strong rental market. Centred on the Anzac Parade shops and close to UNSW, it has interwar and post-war homes, apartment blocks and a large rental and investor market. The common work is terracotta and concrete tile, hip and valley detailing, and gutters, plus flat and metal roofs on apartment blocks and the shops along Anzac Parade. Get the pointing, flashings and falls wrong and water finds its way into the roof space.
We work on houses, apartments, investment properties and small commercial throughout Kingsford, and we assess the whole roof before we quote. Original tiles, aged flashings, tenanted properties and leaf-filled gutters all change how a job runs. Our team is licensed, insured and set up for safe work on tile, metal and flat roofs.
Most Kingsford leaks come from cracked or slipped tiles, perished pointing on ridges and hips, rusted valleys, or flashing that has failed around a chimney or skylight. We trace the water path, fix the cause, and test the repair before we leave.
When a tile or metal roof in Kingsford is past patching, we replace it to suit the property, matching tile profiles or re-roofing in Colorbond. We handle removal and disposal, replace sarking and battens as needed, and reinstate ridge, valley and flashing details.
Ageing pointing, tree cover and tenanted properties are why Kingsford roofs benefit from regular attention. Our maintenance visits clear gutters and valleys, repoint ridge and hip capping, reseal flashings, and flag cracked or slipped tiles while they are still a small repair between tenancies.
Extensions, granny flats, new skylights and fitouts are common across Kingsford, and their roofing is where new work often starts to leak. We work in with your builder and detail the junction where a new roof meets the original, all to Australian Standards.
Buying, selling or managing a Kingsford investment property? Our roof reports cover tile and pointing condition, valleys and flashings, gutters, and any previous patch repairs. You get photos, condition ratings and a clear split between urgent and planned works.
Gutters and valleys in Kingsford fill under street trees, and a blocked valley or gutter is a common cause of overflow into the eaves and roof space. We clean, repair and renew gutters, valleys and downpipes in Colorbond, and fit leaf guard where the trees make it worthwhile.
Knowing how to match a tile profile, repoint a ridge, or dress a flashing into a chimney is what makes a Kingsford repair last. We assess the whole roof, not just the obvious leak.
Roofing in Kingsford is height work on pitched tile and metal roofs, planned around safe access first. Our crew is working-at-heights certified and fully insured.
Matching terracotta and concrete tiles and the right flashings are not always stock items. For Kingsford we source matching and period tiles through trade suppliers and specify them to last.
A few cracked tiles or perished pointing can soak timber and ceilings long before a stain shows. A proper repair beats repeat patch jobs, and we tell you honestly when a roof needs replacing.
Federation homes, interwar houses, semis and apartment blocks, we cover the full range of Kingsford housing. Tile repairs and re-roofs, repointing, metal roofing, gutter and valley renewal, and flashing details around chimneys and skylights, scheduled around tenants and owners.
Shops along Anzac Parade, offices and small strata buildings across Kingsford. We schedule around trading hours and tenants, manage access on occupied buildings, and work with the tile, metal and flat roof systems these buildings use, with the documentation owners and committees need.
A slipped tile or blocked valley in a Kingsford storm can let water into a ceiling quickly. We repair storm damage, leaks and overflow, then book the permanent fix. We document what we find so any insurance or strata claim is straightforward.
Tile is the main roof type in Kingsford, on Federation and interwar homes. We repair and repoint ridge and hip capping, replace cracked and slipped tiles matched for profile and colour, and rebed capping that has lost its mortar, sourcing period Marseille and other tiles where needed.
Colorbond and older corrugated iron appear on Kingsford extensions, apartment blocks and some re-roofs. It is the fixings, flashings and fall that decide how long a metal roof lasts, and we detail them properly for a clean, low-maintenance result.
Flat and low-slope roofs are common on Kingsford apartment blocks, shops and rear additions. These need a membrane system with genuine falls and a designed drainage path, not a coating over a slab. We install and repair membrane roofing and detail upstands, penetrations and skylights so the weak points hold.
We start with a detailed consultation and roof inspection. Our team reviews your needs, assesses the roof condition, and clearly explains possible solutions.
You’ll receive a transparent proposal with recommended solutions, material options, and a clear timeline — no jargon, just what you need to decide.
Once approved, our licensed team completes the work according to the scheduled timeline. Most roof replacements finish within 3–7 days, with quality and safety at the core.
After finishing, we inspect the roof with you, ensure everything meets expectations, and leave your site spotless. We also share tips for ongoing care.

I have had a fantastic experience with this business from start to finish. They are professional experienced, very fair and reasonable. We needed to replace the roof on our outdoor deck which was slightly tricky. Their advice and suggestions regarding product to use was sage. After a downpour there was a bit of a leak between the main building and the deck roof which they came out to fix which resolved the issue. There have been plenty of downpours since and everything is fine. I would highly recommend this company without hesitation. They are excellent.Posted on Google![]()

Thankyou to TomKat Roofing and particulary Scott who did an excellent job repairing my roof. I had a water stain on the ceiling in one of my rooms, I called TomKat Roofing. They sent out a technician (Tim I think his name was) to have a look at the roof and that was followed by a very clear & comprehensive quote with what work needed to be done. The quote was supported by photos of the roof showing the problem areas. Tim was very polite & knowledgeable. He explained to me what needed to be done as a matter of urgency and what would need to be done for maintenance purpose and he showed me the photos. The price was very reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Scott carried out the repair work. Scott is very pleasant to deal and he knew exactly what he was doing. He worked just about all day to finish the job for me and I was very happy with the results and my roof problems have now been solved. I was very impressed with everyone I dealt with, from the ladies in the office who prepared my quote to Scott who completed the job , they are all very friendly and most of all they know their stuff. I think they're an asset to TomKat. I highly recommend TomKat Roofing and I would definitely use them again.Posted on Google![]()

I contacted the team at TomKat roofing as I noticed a small leak in my daughters room during the recent storms and I was pleasantly greeted over the phone by the admin team who took down all my details and soon after I had the scheduling team call and arrange a suitable time to come out and review my concerns. The team promptly identified what the issue was and fixed it promptly. I can’t thank the team enough and whilst I hope I never need to call them again due to a roof issue, I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for professional workmanship.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Tomkat Roofing for an efficient, well priced and solid quality roof replacement. My old, droopy and leaking terracotta tile roof is now straight and strong with a reinforced structure, new corrugated colorbond roof, gutters, facias, downpipes and leaf guard. Some of the key positive experiences I had with Tomkat Roofing are: The efficient and friendly office staff always responded quickly and kept me informed of the progress and when the tradesmen would be onsite. At the start of the job, within a single work day, they had a team of roofers and carpenters to get the old tiles off, the roof structure repaired/reinforced and the colorbond sheets with insulation secured so that my home was protected from the weather. Fortunately the weather was clear for a few days, but it was reassuring to know that they were prepared to work incredibly fast in the summer sun to keep my home safe. The site supervisors were always friendly and took the time to explain everything to me and respond to any concerns or questions I had about the job. Being an older build home, I had a few items that needed particular attention and everything was completed to my satisfaction. A word of advice for home owners looking to get a roof replaced with Tomkat Roofing: Raise as many of your objectives and concerns as you can as early as possible. I found the Tomkat team very responsive to my overthinking mind and everything I wanted to get done was outlined in the quote and addressed during the job. Also, they do tidy up and take away all the waste building material during and at the end of the job, which is great. But be prepared each evening to clean up smaller items that take time to find, like random screws or nails that were dropped, if you have children or pets accessing the area around your home in the evenings. It is unreasonable to expect the workers to find every dropped item each day if you also want the job done quickly.
Tomkat Roofing has worked on Sydney roofs for over twenty years, long enough to know how a Kingsford tile roof fails and how to fix it properly. We are a licensed, insured team and winners of the 2024 and 2025 Australian Small Business Champion Awards in the roofer category.
Every job starts with a proper inspection and ends with a written scope and fixed pricing. If a repair will get you another ten years, we will say so. If the roof is past it, we will show you why.
Signs like leaks, sagging, missing tiles, or water stains often indicate the need for repair. However, if your roof is over 20 years old or has widespread damage, a full replacement may be more cost-effective.
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured, giving you confidence that all work is carried out to Australian standards and safety regulations. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality roofing services.
The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and the materials used. Most residential roof replacements take between 2 to 5 days. We’ll provide a clear timeline before the work begins.
Absolutely. We stand by the quality of our materials and workmanship. All our roofing work comes with a workmanship guarantee, and we use materials that are backed by manufacturer warranties.
