Roofing Company Little Bay

Roofing in Little Bay is shaped by the coast. This is a modern coastal community of houses and apartment developments right on the bay, fully exposed to the ocean. Salt-laden air and strong sea winds corrode metal roofs, loosen fixings and attack flashings faster than they would inland, so the detail has to be right or water finds its way inside. Whether it is a house, an apartment block or strata, the roof here works harder than most.

We work on homes, apartments and strata buildings throughout Little Bay, and we plan access before we quote. Exposure, wind, height and shared common property all change how a job runs. Our team is licensed, insured and set up for height work on exposed coastal sites.

Roofing Services We Offer

Roof Repairs

Most Little Bay leaks start with salt-corroded sheets or fixings, a failed flashing, a cracked seal at a penetration, or a blocked gutter. We trace the water path, fix the cause, and test the repair before we leave.

Roof Replacement

When a metal or tile roof in Little Bay is past patching, we replace it with a system built for the coast, specifying corrosion-resistant Colorbond and marine-grade fixings. We handle removal and disposal, upgrade flashings and drainage, and detail everything to last in salt air.

Roof Maintenance

Salt air is why Little Bay roofs need scheduled maintenance, not reactive callouts. Rust and loosened fixings build up quietly. Our visits clear gutters and valleys, check and reseal flashings, tighten and treat fixings, and flag corrosion while it is still a small repair.

New Roof Projects

Extensions, rooftop decks, new skylights and fitouts run through Little Bay roofs, and each junction is a potential leak in this exposure. We work in with your builder and detail every flashing, upstand and penetration to Australian Standards, specified for the coast.

Roof Inspection & Reports

Buying, selling or managing a Little Bay property? Our roof reports cover corrosion on sheets and fixings, flashings, gutters, and any failing seals. You get photos, condition ratings and a clear split between urgent and planned works, useful for strata budgets by the coast.

Gutters & Downpipes

Gutters and flashings in Little Bay corrode faster in salt air and take wind-driven rain and spray. We renew gutters, valleys and downpipes in corrosion-resistant Colorbond, size them to the roof, and make sure overflows and fixings are specified to last on the coast.

Benefits of Hiring a Professional Roofing Contractor

Expert Workmanship

Knowing which fixings and flashings survive salt air, and how to detail a coastal roof, is what makes a Little Bay repair last. We diagnose from the roof and the ceiling below.

Safety First

Roofing in Little Bay is height work on exposed, windy coastal sites, planned around access first. Our crew is working-at-heights certified and fully insured.

Access to Quality Materials

Corrosion-resistant Colorbond, marine-grade fixings and the right flashings are not always stock items. For Little Bay we source materials rated for salt air and specify them to last.

Time & Cost Efficiency

Salt corrosion spreads under sheets and flashings long before a stain shows. A proper coastal repair beats repeat callouts, and we tell you honestly when a roof needs replacing.

How We Help

Residential Roofing

Houses, semis, apartments and coastal strata, we cover the full range of Little Bay homes. Metal and tile repairs, rust treatment and re-roofs, gutter renewal, and flashing details around skylights and walls, all specified for salt air, scheduled around residents.

Commercial Roofing

Shopfronts, cafes, offices and residential strata across Little Bay. We schedule around trading hours and residents, manage access on occupied buildings, and work with the metal, membrane and drainage systems these coastal roofs use, with the documentation committees need.

Storm Damage Roof Repair

Wind-driven rain in a Little Bay storm finds every corroded sheet and tired flashing. We repair storm damage, leaks and failed drainage, then book the permanent fix. Where a roof is shared, we document what we find so insurance and strata talks stay straightforward.

Types of Roofing We Work With

Tile Roofing

Terracotta and concrete tile appear on many Little Bay homes. We repair and repoint ridge and hip capping and replace cracked or slipped tiles matched for profile, with pointing and fixings chosen to hold up in a coastal, wind-exposed setting.

Metal Roofing

Metal is the workhorse roof in Little Bay, and salt air is its enemy. We repair rust patches, replace corroded sheets and re-secure loose fixings, re-roofing in corrosion-resistant Colorbond with marine-grade fixings for a durable, weather-resistant result.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing

Flat and low-slope roofs are common in Little Bay, on apartments, decks and balconies over living space. These need a membrane with real falls and a designed drainage path, not a coating over a slab. We install and repair membrane roofing and detail upstands and skylights so the weak points hold.

I have had a fantastic experience with this business from start to finish. They are professional experienced, very fair and reasonable. We needed to replace the roof on our outdoor deck which was slightly tricky. Their advice and suggestions regarding product to use was sage. After a downpour there was a bit of a leak between the main building and the deck roof which they came out to fix which resolved the issue. There have been plenty of downpours since and everything is fine. I would highly recommend this company without hesitation. They are excellent.

Thankyou to TomKat Roofing and particulary Scott who did an excellent job repairing my roof. I had a water stain on the ceiling in one of my rooms, I called TomKat Roofing. They sent out a technician (Tim I think his name was) to have a look at the roof and that was followed by a very clear & comprehensive quote with what work needed to be done. The quote was supported by photos of the roof showing the problem areas. Tim was very polite & knowledgeable. He explained to me what needed to be done as a matter of urgency and what would need to be done for maintenance purpose and he showed me the photos. The price was very reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Scott carried out the repair work. Scott is very pleasant to deal and he knew exactly what he was doing. He worked just about all day to finish the job for me and I was very happy with the results and my roof problems have now been solved. I was very impressed with everyone I dealt with, from the ladies in the office who prepared my quote to Scott who completed the job , they are all very friendly and most of all they know their stuff. I think they're an asset to TomKat. I highly recommend TomKat Roofing and I would definitely use them again.

I contacted the team at TomKat roofing as I noticed a small leak in my daughters room during the recent storms and I was pleasantly greeted over the phone by the admin team who took down all my details and soon after I had the scheduling team call and arrange a suitable time to come out and review my concerns. The team promptly identified what the issue was and fixed it promptly. I can’t thank the team enough and whilst I hope I never need to call them again due to a roof issue, I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for professional workmanship.

I highly recommend Tomkat Roofing for an efficient, well priced and solid quality roof replacement. My old, droopy and leaking terracotta tile roof is now straight and strong with a reinforced structure, new corrugated colorbond roof, gutters, facias, downpipes and leaf guard. Some of the key positive experiences I had with Tomkat Roofing are: The efficient and friendly office staff always responded quickly and kept me informed of the progress and when the tradesmen would be onsite. At the start of the job, within a single work day, they had a team of roofers and carpenters to get the old tiles off, the roof structure repaired/reinforced and the colorbond sheets with insulation secured so that my home was protected from the weather. Fortunately the weather was clear for a few days, but it was reassuring to know that they were prepared to work incredibly fast in the summer sun to keep my home safe. The site supervisors were always friendly and took the time to explain everything to me and respond to any concerns or questions I had about the job. Being an older build home, I had a few items that needed particular attention and everything was completed to my satisfaction. A word of advice for home owners looking to get a roof replaced with Tomkat Roofing: Raise as many of your objectives and concerns as you can as early as possible. I found the Tomkat team very responsive to my overthinking mind and everything I wanted to get done was outlined in the quote and addressed during the job. Also, they do tidy up and take away all the waste building material during and at the end of the job, which is great. But be prepared each evening to clean up smaller items that take time to find, like random screws or nails that were dropped, if you have children or pets accessing the area around your home in the evenings. It is unreasonable to expect the workers to find every dropped item each day if you also want the job done quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I know if my roof needs repairs or a full replacement?

Signs like leaks, sagging, missing tiles, or water stains often indicate the need for repair. However, if your roof is over 20 years old or has widespread damage, a full replacement may be more cost-effective.
