Roofing Company Barden Ridge

Roofing in Barden Ridge is shaped by the bush. A newer bushland-edge suburb on the ridge above the Georges River, with homes backing onto reserve. Properties here back onto bushland and the Georges River reserves, and Sutherland Shire Council maps a good deal of this land as bush fire prone. Once a property is mapped, roofing work has to meet the construction requirements in AS 3959 for its assessed bushfire attack level.

Most of the housing is brick veneer under concrete tile, now at the age where bedding, pointing and valley irons all want attention at once. We quote to whichever situation your address sits in, bushfire-prone or not, with written scope and fixed pricing.

Roofing Services We Offer

Roof Repairs

Barden Ridge leaks are age-driven: cracked ridge capping, perished bedding, valley irons rusted under old tiles, often with dry leaf choking the gutters behind it. We find the real entry point and fix the cause.

Roof Replacement

On bushfire-prone Barden Ridge land a re-roof needs non-combustible covering, sarking, sealed gaps and AS 3959 gutters, so Colorbond suits. Off the mapped area, tile and Colorbond both work. Removal and install included.

Roof Maintenance

On Barden Ridge's bush fringe, clearing gutters and valleys of leaf is a fire measure as much as a roofing one. We clear debris, repoint tiled capping, confirm ember protection is intact, and reseal roof penetrations.

New Roof Projects

Rebuilds, second storeys and extensions are common across Barden Ridge. We work in from framing to finish and build mapped sites to AS 3959, with non-combustible covering and compliant gutters, junctions detailed.

Roof Inspection & Reports

A Barden Ridge report reviews tiled capping and bedding, checks valleys for corrosion under the tiles, and assesses ember protection and sealed penetrations against AS 3959. Photos, ratings, urgent versus planned.

Gutters & Downpipes

Barden Ridge gutters fill with dry leaf and become an ember trap. We renew them, fix falls, upsize downpipes, and fit non-combustible metal mesh at the AS 3959 aperture, so the protection actually does its job.

Benefits of Hiring a Professional Roofing Contractor

Expert Workmanship

Non-combustible mesh at the right aperture for a bush block, and flexible pointing on an old tile roof, are not guesswork, and both decide how long the work lasts. Our roofers specify for the address and explain why.

Safety First

Steep bush blocks, brittle mid-century tile and mature trees make these roofs demanding to work on safely. Every job has edge protection and anchor points. Our crew is certified and fully insured.

Access to Quality Materials

We hold trade access to the full Colorbond range, matched tile profiles for mid-century homes, and AS 3959-compliant non-combustible gutter mesh, so we specify honestly rather than fitting what is on the truck.

Time & Cost Efficiency

Skipping compliant gutter protection on bushfire-prone land carries a large number, and deferred repointing turns a modest tile job into ceiling replacement. We quote what the address requires and show you why.

How We Help

Residential Roofing

Mid-century brick veneer and bush-fringe homes across Barden Ridge. Tile repairs, rebedding, repointing, valley replacement, re-roofs in tile or Colorbond, gutter renewal, and bushfire-compliant roof and gutter work where mapped.

Commercial Roofing

Shops, schools, clubs and strata blocks around Barden Ridge. We work around trading hours and residents, manage access on occupied buildings, and work with the tile, metal and membrane systems these properties use.

Storm Damage Roof Repair

Summer storms bring branches down on bush-fringe Barden Ridge roofs, and a heavy limb through brittle tile opens one up fast. We repair storm and branch damage, leaks and drainage, photographing it for the insurance claim.

Types of Roofing We Work With

Tile Roofing

Concrete tile covers most of the Barden Ridge housing and is ageing together: pointing cracks, bedding fails, valleys rust. We repoint capping with flexible pointing, replace broken tiles from stock, and renew valley irons.

Metal Roofing

On bushfire-prone Barden Ridge blocks, a non-combustible metal roof with sealed gaps and compliant gutters is the simple way to meet AS 3959, and it is far lighter than tile when re-roofing over an existing structure.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing

Flat and low-slope roofs turn up on Barden Ridge alfresco areas, carports and deck roofs on sloping blocks. Under tree cover they are debris traps, so we install membrane and low-pitch metal with genuine falls and clear outlets.

I have had a fantastic experience with this business from start to finish. They are professional experienced, very fair and reasonable. We needed to replace the roof on our outdoor deck which was slightly tricky. Their advice and suggestions regarding product to use was sage. After a downpour there was a bit of a leak between the main building and the deck roof which they came out to fix which resolved the issue. There have been plenty of downpours since and everything is fine. I would highly recommend this company without hesitation. They are excellent.

Thankyou to TomKat Roofing and particulary Scott who did an excellent job repairing my roof. I had a water stain on the ceiling in one of my rooms, I called TomKat Roofing. They sent out a technician (Tim I think his name was) to have a look at the roof and that was followed by a very clear & comprehensive quote with what work needed to be done. The quote was supported by photos of the roof showing the problem areas. Tim was very polite & knowledgeable. He explained to me what needed to be done as a matter of urgency and what would need to be done for maintenance purpose and he showed me the photos. The price was very reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Scott carried out the repair work. Scott is very pleasant to deal and he knew exactly what he was doing. He worked just about all day to finish the job for me and I was very happy with the results and my roof problems have now been solved. I was very impressed with everyone I dealt with, from the ladies in the office who prepared my quote to Scott who completed the job , they are all very friendly and most of all they know their stuff. I think they're an asset to TomKat. I highly recommend TomKat Roofing and I would definitely use them again.

I contacted the team at TomKat roofing as I noticed a small leak in my daughters room during the recent storms and I was pleasantly greeted over the phone by the admin team who took down all my details and soon after I had the scheduling team call and arrange a suitable time to come out and review my concerns. The team promptly identified what the issue was and fixed it promptly. I can’t thank the team enough and whilst I hope I never need to call them again due to a roof issue, I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for professional workmanship.

I highly recommend Tomkat Roofing for an efficient, well priced and solid quality roof replacement. My old, droopy and leaking terracotta tile roof is now straight and strong with a reinforced structure, new corrugated colorbond roof, gutters, facias, downpipes and leaf guard. Some of the key positive experiences I had with Tomkat Roofing are: The efficient and friendly office staff always responded quickly and kept me informed of the progress and when the tradesmen would be onsite. At the start of the job, within a single work day, they had a team of roofers and carpenters to get the old tiles off, the roof structure repaired/reinforced and the colorbond sheets with insulation secured so that my home was protected from the weather. Fortunately the weather was clear for a few days, but it was reassuring to know that they were prepared to work incredibly fast in the summer sun to keep my home safe. The site supervisors were always friendly and took the time to explain everything to me and respond to any concerns or questions I had about the job. Being an older build home, I had a few items that needed particular attention and everything was completed to my satisfaction. A word of advice for home owners looking to get a roof replaced with Tomkat Roofing: Raise as many of your objectives and concerns as you can as early as possible. I found the Tomkat team very responsive to my overthinking mind and everything I wanted to get done was outlined in the quote and addressed during the job. Also, they do tidy up and take away all the waste building material during and at the end of the job, which is great. But be prepared each evening to clean up smaller items that take time to find, like random screws or nails that were dropped, if you have children or pets accessing the area around your home in the evenings. It is unreasonable to expect the workers to find every dropped item each day if you also want the job done quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I know if my roof needs repairs or a full replacement?

Signs like leaks, sagging, missing tiles, or water stains often indicate the need for repair. However, if your roof is over 20 years old or has widespread damage, a full replacement may be more cost-effective.
